Great news; Dad is back home again! And has made it through his first cancer-related hospital stay - a new milestone. A cause for the fever spikes is yet to be found; the remaining possibilities are infection of the tumour(s) itself or bacterial contamination in his port tubing (a new accessory in his chest through which he receives chemo infusions). Whatever the case, the antibiotics seem to be working, and dad's oncologist is reasonably certain that the fevers were not due to cancer progression, as his liver numbers are ever improving.
Dad's just thrilled to be back home again; hospital food is really quite unpalatable at the best of times! Hopefully he won't be back anytime soon. We really appreciate all your prayers and support!
